Journal Entry:
What is the role of the pigments in plants and where are they found?
Learning Intentions
We will learn how to explain the process that chloroplasts complete for the light reactions in the thylakoid to turn light energy and water into oxygen, ATP and NADPH
We will learn how to explain the process that chloroplasts use to turn carbon dioxide, ATP and NADPH into sugar molecules and how various plants modify this process.
Closing Task:
You can identify the wavelengths of light needed in the photosystems and what the roles of the pigments are in the photosystems.
Content Standards being covered:
Topics
ENE-1.H Describe the role of energy in living organisms
ENE-1.I

energy.
ENE-1.J Explain how cells capture energy from light and transfer it to
biological molecules for storage and use.
