Journal Entry:
What is Chromatography? How could we use it with plants?
Learning Intentions
We will learn how to explain the process that chloroplasts use to turn carbon dioxide, ATP and NADPH into sugar molecules and how various plants modify this process.
We will learn how plants need to modify functions in extreme conditions
We will learn what needs to be included in your pre-lab for Part A of the Photosynthesis Lab
Closing Task:
You can identify the parts of paper chromotography and how you can use calculations to analyze molecules being seperated by the process.
Content Standards being covered:
Topics
ENE-1.H Describe the role of energy in living organisms
ENE-1.I
Describe the photosynthetic processes that allow organism to capture and store
energy.
ENE-1.J Explain how cells capture energy from light and transfer it to
biological molecules for storage and use.
Science

6.B. Argumentation- Support a claim with evidence from biological principles,
concepts, processes, and/or data.
6.C Argumentation- Provide reasoning to justify a claim by connecting evidence to biological theories.
