Wrap up/Launch
Monosaccharides are monomers that become disaccharides and polysaccharides, which are all known as carbohydrates. Glycerol and fatty acids are monomers that become phospholipids, triacylglycerol and steroids, which are known as lipids. Amino acids are monomers that become polypeptides which form proteins. Nucleotides are monomers for deoxyribose nucleic acid and ribose nucleic acid, which are nucleic acids.
Directionality and hydrogen bonding plays a large role in the 3D structure of these macromolecules.
