What was the most interesting adaptation you learned about today? What is its function for the otter?
Sea otters have webbed feet, water-repellent fur to keep them dry and warm, and nostrils and ears that close in the water. River otters have long, streamlined bodies, short legs, webbed toes, and long, tapered tails—all adaptations for their mostly aquatic lives. Their short thick fur is a rich brown above, and lighter, with a silvery sheen, below.
