We will learn how functional groups relate to certain smell categories.
We will learn the naming patterns found among molecules associated with specific functional groups.
We will learn the various ways to represent molecular compounds, molecular formula, structural formula and Lewis dot structure.
Closing Task:
You can deduce the probable smell of a compound from its name or structural formula based on functional groups.
You can create a concept map of smells and representations of molecular compounds
