Learning Intentions

• You can plan an experiment to discover what will happen to various chemical in a flame test and predict the color of light that will be emitted by the chemicals.

• You can test chemicals in a flame to learn what color of light the electrons within the atoms will emit when excited.

• You can learn safety precautions for burning chemicals.

• You can answer analysis questions and write a conclusion based on the results you get from your flame tests.
